Local Tour (LT)

LT1 Great Wall - Lunch - Ming Tombs

The Great Wall of China, also known in China as the Great Wall of 10,000, is an ancient Chinese fortification built from the end of the14th century until thebeginning of the 17th century. The first major wall was built during the reign of the First Emperor, the main emperor of the short-lived Qin dynasty. This wall was not constructed as a single endeavor, but rather was created by the joining of several regional walls built by the Warring States.
The Ming Tombs are a group of mausoleums of 13 Ming Emperors. The underground burial chamber of Ming Emperor Wanli is open to the public since excavation in 1956. The Great Wall was originally built in 221 BC. The section of Juyongguan we are going to visit was built in the 15th century during the Ming Dynasty and repaired recently.

LT2 Forbidden City - Tian’anmen Square - Temple of Heaven
Time: 08:30-17:00

The magnificent Forbidden City is a vastcomplex of palaces and pavilions which were home to Emperors for more than 500 years. The Temple of Heaven is a masterpiece of Ming (15th century) architecture, where the Emperors performed annual sacrificial rituals for good harvest.

LT3 Lama Temple - Lunch - Summer Palace

The Lama Temple is the center of learning for the Yellow Hat sect of Tibetan Lamas with considerable religious and political sway. Today there are some 70 Mongolian lamas tending the temple. The Summer Palace is called "Yiheyuan" (Garden of Nurtured Harmony) in Chinese. It is up to now the best preserved and the largest imperial gardens in China.

Evening Program (EP)

EP1 Peking Opera
Time: 17:30-21:30

Beijing opera or Peking opera is a form of traditional Chinese theatre which combines music, vocal performance, mime, dance and acrobatics. It arose in the late 18th century and became fully developed and recognized by the mid-19th century. The form was extremely popular in the Qing Dynasty court and has come to be regarded as one of the cultural treasures of China. It has also spread to other countries such as the United States and Japan.

EP2 Acrobatic Show
Time: 17:30-21:30
Price: RMB250

This is one entertainment that must not be missed by the young and old on a visit to Beijing. China has many world class acrobatic troupes because practically every province and major city will have its own acrobatic troupe, and children are selected to be trained as performers from a young age. The group bicycling show is also a favorite with the ten cycling girls finally all ending up on a bicycle with their fans spread out like a peacock. Other exciting acts are the juggling of large porcelain urns, martial arts, balancing of bowls, umbrellas or stacked chairs, rope walking, pole climbing, roller skating and plate swirling

Aug. 2, Arrival in Shanghai and check-in hotel on your own. Free time for the rest of the day. Stay overnight in Shanghai at a hotel.

Aug. 3, After breakfast, visit Yu Garden and Jade Buddha Temple. Stroll on the Bund, lined with graceful European buildings and with stunning views over the modern district of Pudong. In the evening, check in at hotel and take a rest.

Aug. 4, Flight to Guilin in the morning. After lunch, visit the extraordinary underground caves of the Reed Flute Cave and ascend Fubo Hill for a superb view of this beautiful town. Stay in Guilin overnight at a hotel.

Aug. 5, After breakfast, take a Li River cruise to Yangshuo with lunch on board, visit Yangshuo West Street in the afternoon. Return to Guilin Airport and flight to Xi'an in the evening. Stay in Xi'an overnight at a hotel.

Aug. 6, Visit the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, the home of more than 6000 life-size terra-cotta warriors and horses excavated from the tomb of the first emperor of the QingDynasty. After lunch, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a well-preserved building and a holy place for Buddhists. Then go to Shaanxi Provincial Museum, which considers it an obligation to be ashowcase of ancient civilizations. Dumpling Banquet in the evening.

Aug. 7, After breakfast visit to Old City Wall, the most complete city wall that has survived in China. Transfer to the airport and flight to Beijing. Pick-up at the airport and transfer to the conference venue. The tour ends.

Aug. 11, Meeting in the lobby of Beijing Continental Grand Hotel at 05:45am,transfer to the Beijing Airport and fly to Xian by MU2102(07:50-10:05). Upon arrival, visit Shaanxi History Museum, a must-see for ancient civilizations. After lunch, go to visit the well-preserved Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Old City Wall. You will enjoy a welcome Dumpling Banquet in the evening. Check-in at Sunda Gentleman International Hotel.

Aug. 12, After breakfast, visit the greatest attraction in Xian-Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, the home of more than 6000 life-size terra-cotta warriors and horses excavated from the tomb of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty. Lunch near the Museum. Fly back to Beijing by HU7238 (19:45-21:30). Upon arrival, airport meeting and transfer to Beijing Continental Grand Hotel directly (Dinner is not included).

Aug. 13, After breakfast, flight to Guilin by JD5123 (07:40-09:25). Visit the extraordinary underground caverns of the Reed Flute Cave and ascend Fubo Hill for a superb view of this beautiful town. Overnight in Hotel Universal Guilin.

Aug. 14, After breakfast, take a Li River cruise to Yangshuo with lunch on board, visit Yangshuo West Street in the afternoon. Return to Guilin Airport and flight to shanghai by M9350(20:40-22:55). Stay in Ambassador Hotel.

Aug. 15, After breakfast, visit Yu Garden, one of the well-known gardens of classical style south of the Yangtze River, Jade Buddha Temple which got its name from the two jade statues of Sakyamuni. Stroll on the Bund, lined with graceful European buildings and with stunning views over the modern district of Pudong. Stay in Ambassador Hotel.
